NEW TECHNOLOGY

When visiting the Olathe Motor Vehicle Department, customers will notice a difference in the way transactions are processed. The Olathe Motor Vehicle Department uses a system called Clear-Q to dispense numbers and direct traffic flow. Upon entering the Olathe Motor Vehicle customers need to stop at the ticket selector and pull a number. If processing more than one application, pull the higher ticket category. Only pull one ticket even if processing more than one transaction.

The choices are: Titles, Renewals, Refunds

Titles-is for any work which is not a renewal or refund. This would include transferring a title, changing names on titles, or any other transaction involving moving license plates from one vehicle to another.

Renewals-is for any vehicle renewal work which needs to be processed. Renewals consist of paying the yearly registration fees and property taxes on vehicles to obtain the new decal sticker for the year.

Refunds-is for any refund of registration fees and property taxes which may be due to the disposing of a vehicle.

If the title button is selected, the information clerk will call your number to the information counter to verify that all the necessary paperwork to complete your transaction is in your possession for.

The queing system will call your number to the next available cashier for processing. There are several displays signs in the lobby to show what number is being called next and to what station.
